A GUNFIGHT German movie poster (1971) - From the recording studio to the silver screen: Musicians turning into Actors (Part 3)
Some musicians have natural presence whether they are on stage or in front of a camera; their bodies exuding power and commanding natural authority. The Man in Black, Johnny Cash belongs to that group of tall men.
While he starred mainly in musical related movies and TV series (Colombo), Cash gave one of his finest performances as gunslinger opposed to Kirk Douglas in a showdown to death in Lamont Johnston’s A Gunfight
The tension between the two men is not only shown in the great portraits of the German movie poster but also in the final duel scene which I urge you all to watch here. Cash looks like a giant without saying a word.
